The Italian Agency for Ballistics started up as an Associated Engineering Services Office workings with the best Italian professional figures in the field of Ballistics upon initiative of Doct Eng. Piero Vaudan († 20-9-2014) and Doct. Eng. Gianni Bresciani, both Italian Navy officers retired with large experience in the field of weapon system and ammunition. From september 2014 the Agency reconfigured in Enegineering Firm.

Technical background sees tooking part in international cooperation activities and in Nato working group related to the preparation of Stanags with particular reference to the definition of the technical requirements necessary to guarantee the safety and suitability for service of the weapon system and ammunition (NATO working group: AC 310/SG3, AC326/SG3, Naval Ammunition Interchangeability Working Group e Ordnance Safety Group inside the Horizont Fregates Program). In the operational period joining Italian Navy experience on live test firings with explosives and artillery ammo grew up; skills in Ammo In Service Surveillance field, in Ammo safety qualification process and in feasibility and industrialization issues have been enanched as weel.
